Dress Code

 

 

 

 

Women:  Floor-length Gowns. "Borrow" one if you must.

 

The ideal gown will have a full skirt that that is made of soft material.  Tight, narrow dresses can restrict movement.  It is customary that only young women in the opening ceremony wear white dresses.

 

Gloves should be full length or opera length.

 

Women who wish to remain incognito may wear masks, and will  be allowed the prerogative of inviting men to waltz. 

 

 

Men:  White Tie, Black Tie, Suit, or Period Costume.

 

Gentlemen are cautioned to keep pocket watches within easy reach at all times, especially the chiming variety.

 

For gentlemen who decide to rent a tailcoat or tux, a 10% group discount has been arranged with Mens Wearhouse. The group number to use for this discount is 1164679.  For gentlemen who prefer the ultimate attire for this event, we suggest the following combination:

Staff will be available at the door to assist you with your cape, top hat, and walking cane.

 

 

Although not absolutely essential, men and women may find leather-sole shoes to be very helpful when waltzing.
